Abuja High Court Dissolves the New PDP
In an unprecedented ruling today at the federal high court Abuja, which now appears to be an ugly day for the camp of Alhaji Kawu Baraje led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.The Court in Abuja declared the activities of Alhaji Kawu Baraje and his cohorts of the nPDP as illegal. It has now ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to recognize the Alhaji Bamanga Tukur led national officers of the party.
The judgment was delivered by Justice Elvis Chukwu, who ordered Baraje, Dr. Jaja Sam Jaja, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Atiku Abubakar to immediately desist from parading themselves as national officers of the PDP. In zobo.ng previous report few weeks ago,you would recalled that Alhaji Kawu Baraje and his cohorts declared themselves as the executive officers of a party popularly referred to as the ‘nPDP’. This has now been dissolved and it will now ceased to operate. Zobo.ng reporters on ground have not been able to establish if they have the right to appeal the ruling.
However, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje faction of the PDP has advised that Bamanga Tukur and his loyalists should not celebrate yet as any such celebration would be short-lived as they are “more than ever determined to show him the way out of the exalted position he is illegally occupying”.We will be providing you with more information as soon as we get them.
